STATEMENT OF FAITH OF THE
LIVING WATER EVANGELICAL CHURCH

GOD

We believe that there is one God(1), who eternally(2) exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit(3).

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God(4) and fully man(5), was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary(6). We believe in His sinless life(7), in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood(8), and in His bodily resurrection(9). He ascended to the right hand of the Father(10) and will personally return in power and glory(11).

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin(12), sanctifies(13) and empowers the believer to live a godly life(14), and enables the believer to serve the church through spiritual gifts(15).

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, and are the only divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice(16).

HUMANITY

We believe that human beings were created in the image and likeness of God(17), but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God(18), thereby deserving physical and spiritual death and eternal separation from God(19).

SALVATION

We believe that salvation has been provided only through Jesus Christ for all people(20), and those who repent of their sin and believe in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for their sin are forgiven of their sin(21), receive the gift of eternal life(22), are indwelt by the Holy Spirit(23), and become children of God(24).

THE CHURCH

We believe that the Church consists of all who repent and believe in the Good News of Jesus Christ and that its purpose here on earth is to be Christ’s witnesses(25) and to make disciples of all nations(26). The local church is a community of believers who gather regularly for worship, instruction, fellowship, service, evangelism, and to observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper(27).

CHRIST'S RETURN

We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ(28), which will be personal and visible(29). There will be a bodily resurrection of the saved and the unsaved: the saved will be raised to eternal life and will reign with Christ forever and ever(30), the unsaved to eternal judgment and separation from God(31).
