HAITI RELIEF FUND
In response to the January 2010 earthquake, the LWEC family donated over $13,000 to the Haiti Relief Fund through our partnership with World Relief. Our support & prayers continue to go out to the people in Haiti.
2010 CENSUS
In partnership with the Asian American Institute, LWEC is educating our community on the importance of participating in the March 2010 Census. LWEC has mobilized 15 area churches and ministries to reach over 6,000 people in this effort to empower and educate. For more information, check out www.asianamericancensus.org
GOOD NEIGHBOR KIT & APARTMENT SET-UP
World Relief equips local churches to answer Christ's call to embrace America's newcomers. In February 2010, LWEC donated household furnishings and helped to set-up an apartment for an incoming Burmese family.
MISSIONS CONFERENCE - NATIONS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS
In October 2009, LWEC hosted the Missions Conference "Nations in Our Neighborhoods". This began our partnerships with the Asian American Institute and World Relief. For more information, check out www.aaichicago.org and www.wr.org
